They're getting a bit 'out of ideas for post ... I have some backlog of films I want to talk.
Tonight I want to spend but a few words about Shock , the last true film directed by Maestro Mario Bava. Two years later dates under the direction of the Venus d'Ille , television movie filmed in large part by his son Lamberto. But Shock can be considered the latest work by the great director-craftsman.
Dora comes to life in the big house with his son and second husband Mark Bruno. Years before her husband Charles had committed suicide, plunging deeper into depression Dora. Arrived begin to occur, however, strange phenomena and little Marco behaves really strange.

Considered by many as a child of Light, in fact reserve many surprises. The son Lamberto worked in part to the director and screenplay with Francesco Barbieri, Paul and the great Brigenti Dardano Sacchetti ( The cat o 'nine tails and chain reaction). Compared to previous films of Bava with fewer inventions, directed a more "peaceful". The screenplay is holding throughout the film and offers a beautiful final, solid and legitimate. Light seems to be caught by the story (however simple and already seen), the idea is brilliant flashes, solutions that take your breath away and strike. There are also commonplace in absurd dialogues, one in every sentence spoken by the child, very seriously, "Mom, I have to kill you ...". Cold stare of the mother ... History
although trivial (compared to the often intricate plots proposed by Mario) shows the steps curious and very up to date at the time. Very curious is the child's relationship with his mother, who is often confused with the old one between husband and Dora. The child manifests the will of the ghost of his father with respect, even from a sexual point of view. But here we do not fall into the vulgar.
Dora is played by Daria Nicolodi, Dario Argento time companion, with whom he had written Suspiria, directed in the same period. The Nicolodi is also the mother of Asia. The actress cries throughout the film, but it is really convincing in the part. Light
you leave take the fashion of the films of Argento and insert a column and some progressive rock music, composed of Libra in the footsteps of the Goblin. But the music is excellent and the best way the story goes.
Some suggestions: more points seem to see The House Sam Raimi, 1981. The piano that comes to life and ride, the idea of \u200b\u200bthe cellar, the musical accompaniment. Raimi must have had in mind this little gem, not perfect but nice Bava. Look at the network, or rather read monographs on Mario Bava, you big surprises: Light is the true master of Silver and other Italian and foreign general, quoted by many but remembered by few.
